Rookery Lane, Lincoln
Approximately 1.32 ha of greenfield site within the ownership of the City of Lincoln Council, allocated for residential development within the adopted Local Plan.
Existing properties were acquired and demolished, to allow for access into the site, previously ‘landlocked’ behind the
existing built form of Rookery Lane.
Comprising 42 dwellings including a mix of tenure and size, delivering a high-quality 100% affordable housing scheme, designed to reach EPC rating A and latest HQI and Lifetime
Home standards.
Intended to be a clean, contemporary interpretation of the built form which already exists in the local area, the homes were designed with large, clean punctuated window openings against the sharp external brickwork, whilst providing light airy spaces internally.
They were built using traditional construction methods but feature forward-thinking innovation including electric
vehicle charging points for each house and a shared pay-as-you-go charging station between the apartments.
Involvement: Fay Benson and Paul Ponwaye
